NZ’s only national wine awards.
The National Wine Awards of Aotearoa New Zealand is the country’s newest and only national wine competition.
Under the stewardship of the same team that organised the Royal Easter Show Wine Awards, NZ's longest running Wine Show, it brings the best of this epic heritage together with focussed ambitions for the future, with the purpose of identifying, celebrating and elevating excellence in New Zealand wine.
Established in 2022, the awards are under the ownership of the Auckland Agricultural & Pastoral Association, a not-for-profit organisation deeply committed to “bettering the breed.” You can learn more about their rich heritage as one of Auckland's oldest organisations here.
The key objectives of the competition are:
to identify, recognise and celebrate excellence in New Zealand wine
to provide consumers with a comprehensive assessment of currently available New Zealand wines by style and quality
to afford New Zealand winemakers a medium for increasing public awareness of the quality and value of New Zealand wines currently available both in NZ and the export market.
